Frequently asked questions
Quick answers before you sign up, choose a plan, submit a paper, or contact support.
What is a Zyme?
A Zyme is a reusable, interactive tour of an academic paper. It helps you follow the authors’ argument and inspect the source passages behind each explanation, so understanding and checking happen together. Getting started introduces the reading experience.
What will I see inside a Zyme?
A Zyme opens on Snapshot, with answers to questions the paper actually answers and the source passages behind them. The walk follows the paper in section order, and Claims & limits pairs the authors' claims with source passages and their own qualifications. See How to read a Zyme for Contents and other reading controls.
Can I trust what a Zyme says?
TimeZyme checks generated explanations against the paper and links them to passages you can inspect. Required content that fails source checks is repaired or its page is withheld. These checks do not independently prove the research findings, and mistakes remain possible. How to read a Zyme shows how to examine the evidence.
What can I submit?
TimeZyme accepts arXiv papers only for now, submitted through New Zyme as an arXiv ID or arXiv link. There is no upload from your device; see Your first Zyme for supported formats and steps.
How do I create a Zyme from a source?
With an active paid subscription, add a source in New Zyme to check it without spending credits. An existing Zyme may become ready for you through reuse. When a new Zyme is needed, choose Process for N credits at the displayed price. Your first Zyme shows both paths.
Can I read Zymes for free?
Yes, for reading: selected samples are public and a free account can explore Featured Zymes. Creating new Zymes requires an active paid subscription. See Pricing for current prices and allowances and Getting started for reading options.
How do credits work, including if processing fails?
Each source shows its credit price before you choose to process it. Credits are reserved for the job, used on success, and released on failure. A released reservation is not a cash refund. Included monthly credits do not roll over; purchased credits expire 365 days after grant. The dashboard shows processing slots separately from credits. See Pricing for current allowances.
Will my papers be used to train AI?
TimeZyme does not use submitted documents to train AI models. We use AI and OCR to extract and explain a paper when creating a Zyme; that processing is different from model training. Our Privacy Policy explains how source content and account data are handled.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel renewal in Billing settings to stop the next subscription renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid period, and paid access continues until then. Refunds and cancellations explains refund requests and applicable rights.
What if I delete my account — does it cancel billing or erase everything?
Deleting your account immediately cancels your subscription and stops future renewals. You lose access to your library, remaining paid time, and unspent credits; deletion does not automatically issue a refund. To keep access until your paid period ends, cancel renewal in Billing settings without deleting your account. Reusable paper content, billing records, backups, and provider copies may remain. Our Privacy Policy explains retention and additional personal-data deletion requests.
